Experimental observation of high spin states in La-135 nucleus

英文摘要 | High spin states of La-135 have been experimentally studied by using Te-128 (B-10, 3n) La-135 reaction at.46 Me V beam energy. Based on the gamma-gamma coincidence relationships, relative intensities and ADO ratios, a level scheme of (135) La has been established. Both signature components of the pih(11/2) negative-parity band and a band crossing at (h) over bar omega approximate to 0.40MeV were observed. In view of the systematics of the N = 78 isotones, this backbending is proposed to be caused by the alignment of a pair of pih(11/2) protons. The pih(11/2) protons drive the nuclear core towards gamma approximate to 0degrees, the collective prolate shape. In addition, a 01 = 1 negative-parity band with strong M1 transitions and a very small signature splitting was observed.. Comparing with the systematic features of DeltaI= 1 bands in neighboring odd-proton nuclei in this mass region, the pih(11/2) circle times (nuh(11/2))(2) configuration was assigned to the DeltaI= 1 bands of (135) La. The alignment of the pih(11/2) neutron pair drives the nuclear core towards gamma approximate to - 60degrees, the collective oblate shape. |
