英文摘要A mechanism for the electron beam energy modulation using the laser-beam interaction in a dipole field is proposed. One-dimensional theoretical model and three-dimensional numerical simulation are developed, which allow us to optimize the amplitude of the energy modulation under given parameters. It is shown that the laser-induced electron beam energy modulation in a dipole holds a promising prospect for the development of free electron lasers, such as the high harmonic density modulation and the suppression of microbunching instability.
