中文摘要The compressive dynamic mechanical behavior of alpha-titanium with more impurities was carried out using a Split-Hopkinson pressure bar (SHPB). A cylindrical specimen was set between the incident and transmitted bars and impacted at high strain rate (similar to10(3) s(-1)) The test revealed significant rate sensitivity of the fracture and linear strain hardening, and the critical strain rate at fracture was determined to be 3000 s(-1). The failure model was by shearing. Microscopic examinations showed that a large amount of twins were formed during deformation which increased with strain and strain rate. In addition, a developing shear band was found. The experimental relationship between stress and strain was compared with prediction using Zerilli-Amstrong constitutive equation and the related parameters were determined. (C) 2004 Elsevier B.V.
