Multifractal Analysis of Global Total Column Ozone Image

英文摘要 | Ozone depletion is an important contributor to global environmental change. Satellite remote sensing provides various kinds of ozone imagery every day. As an important natural property, we investigate multifractal characteristics of global total column ozone (OTCO) images and explore their change over time with a series of month-average GTCO images from OMTO3e. The results show that the GTCO does have a significant multifractal characteristic. Although the average fractal properties of all the time series are very similar, we find that the degrees of multifractality follow an intersting symmetry principle which presents a typical wave shape. The change of asymmetry degree is also symmetrical. It indicates that the large and small flucturations in June are comparable to each other, while in January and December the measure are dominated by low fractal exponents. |
