英文摘要 | This paper address the problem of water resources renew - ability linked with the recent water crisis and drying up events in the Yellow River of China. Under the support of a national key research project, entitled "Evolution Laws of Water Resources and Sustaining Mechanism of Water Renewability in the Yellow River Basin", some of hydrologically based problems related to water resource problems were discussed and researched in terms of the Yellow River. Questions such as "what is water renewability?" and "how does one quantify water renew - ability linked with natural change and human activity?" Based on the concept of hydrological cycle at a basin scale, water renew - ability was defined in terms of the two main objectives: water quantity and quality in this paper. An indicator system approach to quantify the renewability of a unit water body was developed, and the formula to calculate water renewability was given in a workable way. A case study in Malianhe watershed in the Yellow River Basin is given as a preliminary explanation of this method. Research results indicate that the theory and methodology in this paper are reasonable and feasible for determining the special - temporal changes of water renew ability in the hydrological cycle. |
