Moldless micropatterning of BaTiO3 nanoparticles via electrophoretic deposition: A simple and feasible method

中文摘要In this work, a simple, reproducible, and inexpen-sive fabrication route for moldless micropatterning of acolloidal assembly on a conducting substrate surface isactualized by means of electrophoretic deposition (EPD)technique. A synergetic combination of photolithography andEPD is employed for fabricating micropatterns of bariumtitanate (BaTiO3) nanoparticles on an indium-tin-oxide (ITO)coated glass slide or a Pt/ITO substrate. At first, high qualityresist molds with various micropatterns are fabricated onITO glass slide by photolithography technique, which isused for providing a controlled local electric field during theEPD process. Then, BaTiO3 nanoparticles suspension isprepared in KCl aqueous solution and is demonstrated theBaTiO3 nanoparticles are negative charged in the suspen-sion. At last, EPD of various BaTiO3 micropatterns isaccomplished successfully on the anodic ITO glass slide orPt/ITO substrate using the micropatterned ITO glass slide asthe cathode, indicating that it is a simple and potential routefor micropatterning of colloidal assembly on a non-modifiedconducting substrate by virtue of EPD process.
