英文摘要PURPOSE:To generate an excellent beam in reading and recording without expanding the whole body of an image information reading and reproducing device by fixing plural semiconductor lasers for read and those for reproduction on one same supporter and using the both semiconductor lasers switchingly between read and reproduction. CONSTITUTION:The semiconductor lasers 3A-3H for read and those 3I, 3J for reproduction are fixed on the same supporter 2, and only the lasers 3A-3H for read are driven when reading, while at the time of reproducing, only those 3I, 3J are driven, and thus a read beam and a recording beam are respectively emitted in specific optical paths. As a result, a beam source for read and that for recording can be collected closely, hence a read beam and a recording beam can be emitted without expanding the whole of an image information reading and reproducing device.
