英文摘要PURPOSE:To stably obtain a highly precise optical output by comparing the outputs of respective laser elements with a reference signal, amplifying the error signal and correcting a driving current in accordance with a recording data signal driving respective laser elements. CONSTITUTION:At the time of reproduction, respective laser elements 19-21 of the three beam semiconductor laser 22 are controlled by a comparison means 26, an amplification means 30 and a control means 35 so that data becomes a reproduced light output Pr in the current sources 36-38 of a driving means 39. Since respective laser elements at that time emit a direct current with the prescribed light output Pr, interference by thermal connection between adjacent laser elements is constant and it hardly influence the control precision of the optical output. At the time of erasure, control is executed so that data becomes the prescribed erasure light output in the same way as reproduction time and bottom power is set at the time of recording in the same way as reproduction time. Then, the driving current value of respective laser elements is stored. Then, the driving current of the laser element is adjusted in accordance with the recording data signal being the light-emitting instruction signal of the adjacent laser elements. Thus, light output can highly precisely be controlled.
