英文摘要PURPOSE:To make it possible to measure characteristics such as a threshold current value, response of an optical output and optical stability at the starting time of operation, by selecting operations of an APC circuit and an ACC circuit by changing a switch. CONSTITUTION:A driving part 1 drives a semiconductor laser LD. A light detecting part 2 has a light receiving diode PD, which receives the light emitted from the semiconductor laser LD. In a comparing part 3, the output voltage of the light detecting part 2 or the voltage at the cathode end of the semiconductor laser LD is compared with a preset reference voltage. In the detecting part 2, the light receiving diode PD, a resistor 21 and a variable resistor 22 for adjusting sensitivity are connected in series between a positive side power source +12V and the ground. A node between the light receiving diode PD and the resistor 21 is connected to a second switch contact C of a switch part 4. The switch part 4 has a common contact A and a first switch contact B in addition to the second switch contact C. The common contact A is connected to the gate of an FET 3 Thus both operations of an ADC and ACC can be selected.
