Tunable spin manipulation in a quantum dot embedded in an Aharonov-Bohm interferometer

中文摘要In this paper, we study the electron properties of an Aharonov-Bohm interferometer with an embedded quantum dot (QD) by considering the leads of spin bias. As a result, it is found that a local magnetic flux through the structure can efficiently induce spin accumulation in the QD, unaccompanied by any charge transfer, and it shows that the direction and magnitude of the spin accumulation are tightly dependent on the interplay between the magnetic flux and spin bias. Based on the calculated results, we propose such a structure to be a candidate of the spin-manipulating device. (C) 2012 American Institute of Physics. [http://dx.doi.org/10.1063/1.3689820]
