Growth and spectroscopic characterization of Er3+: Ca3La2(BO3)(4) crystal

中文摘要 | Er3+: Ca3La2(BO3)(4) crystals with dimensions of empty set 20 x 30 mm(3) were grown by the Czochralski method. The spectral properties of these crystals were investigated and their spectroscopic parameters were calculated and analysed based on the Judd - Ofelt theory. The oscillator intensity parameters Omega(t) were calculated to be Omega(2) = 7.18 x 10(-20) cm(2), Omega(4) = 3.27 x 10(-20) cm(2) and Omega(6) = 2.79 x 10(-20) cm(2). The emission cross-section of a Er3+: Ca3La2(BO3)(4) crystal was estimated to be 9.06 x 10(-21) cm(2) at 1535 nm. The fluorescence lifetime and radiative lifetime of the I-4(13/2) -> I-4(15/2) transition are 0.63 ms and 2.68 ms, respectively. The Er3+-doped Ca3La2(BO3)(4) crystals may be regarded as 1.55 mu m laser gain medium materials. |
