英文摘要A distribution feedback laser diode, comprisesa substrate, a waveguide layer provided on thesubstrate, an active layer provided on the waveguidelayer, a diffraction grating provided at an interfacebetween the substrate and the waveguide layer forreflecting an optical radiation formed in the activelayer back and forth, a clad layer provided on theactive layer for confining the optical radiation withinthe active layer, a plurality of segmented electrodesprovided on the top surface of the clad layer along anelongated direction of the laser diode for injecting thecarriers into the active layer, wherein at least one ofthe segmented electrodes is provided in correspondenceto a part of the active layer in which the opticalradiation formed in the active layer has a maximumintensity level, and a backside electrode provided atthe bottom surface of the substrate for injecting thecarriers into the active layer through the substrate.
