| 英文摘要 | PURPOSE:To remove spontaneously emitted light other than a signal wave generated from an amplifier by a method wherein a current is injected only between two diffraction gratings, and a region of an active layer other than the above region is made to serve as an absorption waveguide. CONSTITUTION:As an active layer 6 under an electrode 13 is a laser amplification section possessed of gain, signal light transferred to the active layer 6 by a diffraction grating 9 is amplified as propagating through the active layer 6. The signal light amplified propagating through the active layer 6 is coupled with a waveguide by a diffraction grating 15 and outputted from an input-output waveguide 4. As mentioned above, a current is injected only between the diffraction gratings 9 and 15, whereby the region of the active layer 6 other than the above region is made to serve as an absorption waveguide, so that not only disused signals are prevented from being inputted into the amplified signal light but also the spontaneously emitted light other than signal waves generated from an amplifier can be removed. |
