| 英文摘要 | PURPOSE:To produce single-mode system optical waveguides and optical fiber guides or optical element guides together by a method wherein a step is formed on a substrate and the optical waveguide is provided on the top surface of the substrate of the upper stage and the guides are provided on the top surface of the substrate of the lower stage. CONSTITUTION:Waveguides 2 are formed on the top surface of an upper substrate 1b and filter guides 5 and 5 are formed on the center of the top surface of the upper substrate 1b. Fiber guides 3 and 3 are stood on the side of one end of the upper substrate 1b and on the top surface of a lower substrate 1a and reflective mirror guides 6 and 6 are stood on the side of the other end of the upper substrate 1b and a minute reflective mirror 9 is placed between the reflective mirror guides 6 and 6. The optical waveguide 2 is branched to the sidewise direction at the center and a light emission element guide 7 and a semiconductor laser 8 are provided in front of the tip of the branch waveguide 2 and on the top surface of the lower substrate 1a. As the channel optical waveguides 2 are formed on the upper substrate 1b, the height of the waveguide 2 can be lowered by the thickness of the upper substrate 1b and, moreover, the respective guides can be formed to have sufficient and necessary heights. Therefore, high mechanical reliability and functions of alignment and so forth can be realized. |
