英文摘要PURPOSE:To dispense with a precise temperature control system and to enable a non-linear optical element to easily carry out a phase alignment by a method wherein an Al2O3 substrate and a II-VI compound semiconductor formed on the Al2O3 substrate are provided. CONSTITUTION:An Al2O3 substrate 11 and a II-VI compound semiconductor 12 formed on the Al2O3 substrate 11 are provided. As an Al2O3 substrate 11 is transparent to a wide range from an ultraviolet ray region to a visible ray region, a phase alignment can be made through Cerenkov radiation. By this setup, a precise temperature control system can be eliminated and a phase alignment can be easily carried out.
