英文摘要 | PURPOSE:To prevent return light and provide a wavelength converting device with less noise and stable oscillation by separating the 2nd order higher harmonic wave by a directional coupler from a fundamental wave which is transmitted in a non-linear light wave-guide path, an diffusing or absorbing only the fundamental wave. CONSTITUTION:Light from semiconductor laser 7 (830nm) is condensed by a lens 8 to become a fundamental wave 9, which is transmitted in a non-linear light wave-guide path 2. This fundamental wave 9 is converted into the 2nd order higher harmonic wave 10 (415nm) by the non-linear optical effect. These fundamental wave 9 and higher harmonic wave 10 are put incident to a directional coupler 4. Another higher harmonic wave 11 and also the higher harmonic wave (11)10 are transmitted in a light wave-guide path 13 and emitted to outside the device (higher harmonic wave 15). Meantime the fundamental wave 9 is not coupled by the coupler 4 with the light wave-guide path 13, but is transmitted in a light wave-guide path 14 (fundamental wave 12). The fundamental wave 12 passing through the coupler 4 is put incident to an absorption zone 5 and absorbed. Accordingly reflection at the wave-guide end face advances reversely in the wave-guide path 2, and will never return to the semiconductor laser 7. |
