英文摘要 | PURPOSE:To obtain a small-sized light higher harmonics generating device from which a large output can be obtained, by giving higher reflectance to a concave mirror and a projection surface of a nonlinear optical element on the fundamental wave of the emitting light than to the light higher harmonics. CONSTITUTION:The front edge surface 1b of a semiconductor laser 1 is selected to have a low reflectance for the outgoing light, and to have a high reflectance for the second higher harmonics. Further, each reflectance for the outgoing light of the laser 1 of a nonlinear optical crystal 3 and the second higher harmonics is made sufficiently small. The edge surface 5a of a concave mirror 5 is selected to have a high reflectance for the fundamental wave of the outgoing laser beam, and to have a low reflectance for the second higher harmonics. The laser beam generated in the laser 1 is amplified in a light resonator device, and directly inputted into the optical crystal 3. Accordingly, the need of a coupling optical system is obviated, and the dimension of the whole device can be reduced. Almost all the parts of the outgoing laser beam which is inputted into the optical crystal 3 is converted to the second higher harmonics A, and taken outside as the beam B parallel to the laser optical axis C through the concave mirror 5. Since the conversion efficiency from the outgoing laser beam to the second higher harmonics increases, the large output is permitted without increasing the dimension of the device. |
