英文摘要PURPOSE:To mount a photoelectric converter in an extremely high positional accuracy by generating a light source and making the converter protrude with a light emitting point of the light source as a reference. CONSTITUTION:A semiconductor layer 102 to become a light source is die bonded on a submount 103 in a y-axis direction. Four photodiodes 105A, 105B, 105C, 105D to become photoelectric converters are respectively so formed that the photodiodes 105A, 105B are on a board 106A and the photodiodes 105C, 105D are on a board 106B. When boards 106A, 106B are mounted, the laser 102 is driven to emit a light. The boards 106A, 106B are so die-bonded in a z-axis direction that the four diodes are arranged radially and symmetrically to a y-axis passing a light emitting point 101 while observing the monitor screen of a mounting apparatus. Thus, the converters can be mounted in an extremely high positional accuracy with respect to the light source.
