英文摘要The purpose of the present invention is to provide a wavelength conversion member having little risk of performance degradation due to temperature quenching when used for high-power applications and capable of producing great light intensity with less energy. Provided is a wavelength conversion member 10 that includes a base material 12 and a phosphor layer 14 provided on the base material 12 and converts light having a wavelength within a specific range to light having a different wavelength, wherein: the thickness of the phosphor layer 14 is less than or equal to 200 µm and less than or equal to a quarter of the thickness of the base material 12 in the stacking direction of the phosphor layer 14; the phosphor layer 14 is made up of a light-transmissive inorganic material and phosphor particles 16 bonded to the inorganic material; the material of the phosphor particle 16 is either YAG:Ce or LuAG:Ce; and the concentration of Ce in the phosphor particle 16 is between 0.03 at% and 0.60 at%, inclusive.
