英文摘要PURPOSE:To reduce noise in a laser beam, and to prevent the drop of an S/N of an information signal by providing an optical means for feeding back other laser beam than a reflected laser beam from an information storage medium, into a semiconductor laser. CONSTITUTION:A reflecting surface 8 is provided on one side face of a beam splitter (BS)2. A laser beam emitted from a semiconductor laser 1 transmits through the BS2, passes through a collimator lens 3 and a focus lens 4, and it is condensed onto the surface of a disk 5. The reflected light goes back and is reflected by the BS2, made incident on a detector 7 through a focus lens 6, and fetched as an information signal. On the other hand, the incident light from the laser 1, which has been reflected by a half mirror in the BS2 is reflected by the reflecting surface 8, and a part of said light is fed back into the semiconductor laser In this way, a noise of the semiconductor laser 1 is reduced, and a drop of an S/N of the information signal is prevented.
