英文摘要PURPOSE:To obtain a light-emitting unit, a part thereof is not damaged even when a connector slips off, by forming and connecting a semiconductor laser, an output detecting means for the laser and a means converting detecting currents into voltage proportional to an optical output onto one substrate. CONSTITUTION:A laser diode 259, a collimator lens 343 at the output terminal of the laser diode 259, and a photodiode 260 for detecting an output from a laser are unified on a substrate 438, input/output lines S94-97 are connected by a connector 439, and an amplifier 234 is also formed on the same substrate. A laser element 344 is constituted by the elements 259 and 260, a 12V power supply input line S95 is connected between an anode for the element 259 and a cathode for the element 260, a resistor R59 is connected in parallel, an approximately 50kOMEGA resistor R60 is inserted between the cathode and ground, and a current line S96 for controlling modulation is connected. The ground side of R60 is connected to the ground of a modulation circuit by the line S97. The magnification of the amplifier 234 is varied by R32, 33 and a rheostat VR01, and voltage proportional to an output is obtained in a load resistor R31 for the element 260, and inputted to the modulation circuit by the output line S94. Since a laser and an optical detecting means form a closed circuit and are shaped on one substrate, they are difficult to be broken even under the floating state in which a connector slips off, and outputs can be adjusted by a unit.
