英文摘要PURPOSE:To make the adjustment of the intensity of the laser output simple and accurate, by combining a semiconductor laser, a light detector, an amplifier and a varying means of the output signal of the amplifier in one unit. CONSTITUTION:In the laser output control device of a laser printer, a laser 1, a light detector 9, an amplifier 11 and adjusting means 17 constitute one replaceable unit 18. A reference signal Vref is applied to a comparator 12 from a fixed reference power source. The adjusting means 17 makes the gain of the amplifier variable. The adjusting means 17 is a variable resistor, which is connected between an output terminal and an inverted input terminal. The adjustment of the unit 18 is carried out as follows: the output intensity of the laser 1 is measured; the gain of the amplifier 11 is adjusted by the variable resistor 17; and the output of the amplifier is made to agree with the reference signal when the output of the laser 1 has the required intensity. The adjustment can be performed accurately and simply by the maker using the same power meter. Users are not required to adjust the output intensity of the laser
