英文摘要PURPOSE:To form two kinds of different spots by forming a semiconductor laser of which the light source has plural luminous points on the same substrate and in which the plural adjacent luminous points among the luminous points having astigmatism. CONSTITUTION:An n-GaAs layer 2 is formed on the p-GaAs substrate 1 and grooves 11-14 for internal stripes are formed by reactive ion etching or the like. A p-Al0.4Ga0.6As layer 3, an Al0.1Ga0.9As active layer 4, an n-Al0.4Ga0.6As layer 5 and an n-GaAs layer 6 are successively formed again. After an n side electrode 7 and a p side electrode 8 are formed, grooves 9 are provided between the laser elements to separate the lasers, then the independent driving of the elements separated by the grooves 9 is made possible. The width of the grooves for the internal stripes is so selected that the luminous point of the laser having the groove 11 for the internal stripe has hardly astigmatism and that the luminous points of the individual adjacent lasers having the grooves 12-14 for the internal stripes have the astigmatism.
