英文摘要PURPOSE:To reduce the noise of a semiconductor laser to a sufficiently low level, by taking out part of output light from the front direction of the semiconductor laser, converting the light into an electric signal, negatively feeding back the electric signal to a driving current for the semiconductor laser, and superimposing a high frequency on the driving current. CONSTITUTION:Laser light, which is emitted from a semiconductor laser 1 driven by a DC source 3, passes through a beam splitter (BS) 6. The light is converged on an optical disk through a focusing lens 5. The light, which is reflected with the BS 6, is converged on a signal detecting diode 8 through a focusing lens 5. Meanwhile, part of the laser light is reflected on the BS 6 and inputted into a noise detecting photodiode 10 through a focusing lens 9. The noise component is converted into an electric signal. The output signal is negatively fed back to a driving current for the laser 1 through an amplifier circuit 11, and high frequency superimposing action is performed.
