英文摘要PURPOSE:To eliminate the need of diffraction grating and to simplify an assemble work and also to reduce the size of a device by composing a chip of semiconductor laser with a plural number of light emitting elements and their connecting resistors having different resistance values. CONSTITUTION:The chip 21 of the semiconductor laser 1 is composed of three sets of the light emitting element 22-24 and the resistors 25-27 having respective different resistance values, and the interval between light emitting points of each of the elements is set up to 10-300mu by emitting a laser beam 22a for pit detection and laser beams 23a and 24a for tracking guide. The laser beams are reflected at an optical disk 10 via a beam splitter 11 and formed an image at a detector 13 to reproduce a bit of recording information. Each of the elements is independently emitted so that no diffraction grading is necessary, thus the assemble work is simplified and according the size of the device is reduced.
