英文摘要 | PURPOSE:To offer an optical feedback light-emitting device in which a distance between a semiconductor laser element and a diffraction grating is made short, whose modulation frequency band is expanded and which can be modulated at high speed by a method wherein an output beam of the semiconductor laser element is incident on the diffraction grating, a diffracted beam is fed back to said semiconductor laser element and an output of a single wavelength is obtained from another end of the semiconductor laser element. CONSTITUTION:A beam 19 output from a semiconductor laser element 1 is collimated by using an aspherical lens 2 and is incident on a diffraction grating 3. The incident beam is dispersed in accordance with its wavelength; a beam of a specific wavelength decided by an inclination of the diffraction grating 3 is fed back to an active layer of the semiconductor laser element The semiconductor laser element 1 is oscillated by a wavelength of a fed-back beam and its frequency is stabilized. When the diffraction grating 3 is turned, a wavelength of an output beam 20 from the semiconductor laser element 1 is changed. Even when the aspherical lens 2 is composed of only one piece, its performance is identical to that of a lens formed by combining several spherical lenses; because one lens can stably control oscillation of the semiconductor laser element 1, a length of a resonator, i.e. a distance between the semiconductor laser element and the diffraction grating, can be made very short. |
