英文摘要PURPOSE:To obtain a compact optical pickup device by using the photodetecting element set linearly and a lens Fourier transform hologram element in combination with other optical elements. CONSTITUTION:The title device consist of a semiconductor laser 1 of the short wavelength a condenser lens 5, an optical disk (optical recording medium) 7, a lens Fourier transform type hologram diffraction element 2, and two pairs of photodetecting elements 611-614. The laser beams radiated from the laser 1 are condensed at the medium 7 through the lens 5. The reflected light including the recording information, etc., is diffracted into two directions by the element 2 after passing through the lens 5 again. These diffracted beams are condensed at the point near the middle part between both pairs of elements 611, 612 and 613, 614. Thus the stable detection of signals is possible by connecting the minute spots to the focusing and tracking beam control optical systems for example. In such a constitution, an optical system is simplified and a compact optical pickup device is obtained.
