英文摘要PURPOSE:To write a uniform image free from density irregularities by holding integrated light intensity control signals into LD1 and LD2 sequentially one by one for each scan. CONSTITUTION:The integrated light intensity over time of back beam L2' from a laser diode LD2 is detected by a photodiode 8, and its detected intensity signal is entered to an integrated light intensity control signal generating circuit 27. The circuit 27 outputs an integrated light intensity control signal which reduces a deflection between the detected intensity signal and a set intensity signal to Q to a sample holding circuit 30. The intensity control signal changes while a signal to output a beam with a set intensity TA2 is 1, and the beam with a set intensity of a laser beam L2 is reduced to coincide with a set intensity. If the signal to output a beam with set intensity TA2 reduces to 0, the intensity control signal which is output from the circuit 27 is held by the sample holding circuit 30. This held intensity control signal is held at a constant value until it is held as a sample.
