英文摘要PURPOSE:To prevent a semiconductor laser light quantity control signal from being affected by the glitch settling time of a D/A converter by a method wherein digital data is successively converted to analog signals, and each analog signal is determined, successively fetched by a plurality of switching circuits, and outputted as a semiconductor laser light quantity control signal. CONSTITUTION:Digital data to be converted to analog signals to be outputted as semiconductor laser light quantity control signals is inputted to current output-type D/A converters 11, 12 with the number of bits in accordance with a required resolving power. The D/A converters 11, 12 start the conversion of the input data to analog signal currents I1, I2 at the rising timing of a clock signal CLK. After a settling time depending on the D/A converter elapses, output currents become the analog signal currents I1, I2 that have been determined at the rising timing of the clock signal CLK correspondingly to the input data. The analog signal currents I3, I2 have been held until a next clock signal CLK rising. In this manner, a semiconductor laser light quantity control signal can be generated at high speed without being affected by the glitch settling time of the D/A converter.
