英文摘要PURPOSE:To reduce noise as against irregular reflected light from a laser light irradiation body by reflecting and feeding back a part of the emitted light of a semiconductor laser with single vertical mode oscillation, and continuously and periodically changing the light quantity. CONSTITUTION:Light emitted from the semiconductor laser 1 comes to parallel light in a collimator lens 4, and is divided in a beam splitter 5. One goes to a mirror disk 2, and the other is set to a light source for optical information processing. High reflection areas 11 and low reflection areas 12 are alternately formed on the substrate 10 of the disk 2 at the intervals of the diameter of a spot, and a moor 3 rotates the substrate 10. Then, a reflected light quantity from the disk 2 is periodically changed by continuously changing the optical spot 13 converged in a condensing lens 6. Reflected light returns to the emission part of the laser 1 through the same optical route and the change of a threshold current of the laser 1 is generated. It is desirable to set a modulation frequency to be more than 50MHz for making the laser 1 into a multi-mode and for sufficiently deteriorating coherence.
