英文摘要PURPOSE:To make luminous intensity control complete in a short time even when noise takes place by providing a detection means detecting intermission of luminous intensity periodically, a discrimination means of the luminous intensity and a control means for supply current in response to each reference range to the controller. CONSTITUTION:The controller is provided with a luminous quantity detection section 1, a luminous quantity reference value setting section 2, a luminous quantity comparison value (1) setting section 8 calculating a comparison value (1) being an X% with respect to a reference value, and a luminous quantity comparison value (2) setting section 9 calculating a comparison value (2) being a Y% with respect to the reference value, and also a luminous quantity data calculation section 6 to increase a supply current to a semiconductor laser and a laser luminous quantity control section 7 to increase the luminous quantity. Then the intermittent detection of the luminous intensity of the semiconductor laser is implemented periodically, the detected luminous intensity is discriminated and the supply current in response to each reference range is controlled repetitively based on the number of times in which the luminous intensity is resident in the 1st reference range. Thus, the probability in which the result of comparison is in error is reduced and the luminous intensity and the reference value are made coincident.
