英文摘要The present invention improves efficiency of extracting fluorescence in a desired direction. A light emitting unit (12) of a light emitting device (10) has therein a gap the width of which is at most one-tenth of the wavelength of laser light. The light emitting unit (12) is provided with, on the side of a light receiving surface (12a) which receives laser light, an excitation-light transmissive film (13) through which laser light passes and which reflects fluorescence, and is provided with, on the side of an emission surface (12b) which emits fluorescence, a fluorescence transmissive film (14) which reflects laser light and through which fluorescence passes.
