英文摘要An optical fiber testing and monitoring system for usewith a computer for testing one or more fiber optic cables. The systemcomprises a number of modules including an optical time domainreflectometer module, a power supply module, and a light metermodule. The modules are mounted in a module tray which includes abus for coupling each of the modules in the tray. The module busprovides power and a communication link between modules in thetray. The module tray can be fastened directly to the base of a notebookcomputer thereby converting the computer into a portable andversatile optical fiber test instrument and optical time domainreflectometer. The modules trays can also be stacked to form an opticaltesting instrument rack. The system includes a tray bus which couplestogether the module trays and the computer and provides acommunication link between the modules and the computer. Inanother aspect, the system can be configured for bi-directional testingof fiber optic cables. One of the modules can comprise acommunication module which is coupled through a communicationschannel to a similar module at the remote end of the fiber cable. Testdata and control information is communicated to the remote module.
