英文摘要PURPOSE:To sort a proper frequency to obtain a high S/N ratio and sort a high frequency to use it for a high bit rate optical communication by measuring the oscillation frequency of a self-modulated current. CONSTITUTION:Since a self-oscillation type semiconductor laser 1 self-modulates an injected DC bias, a spectrum analyzer 3 connected to the driver of the semiconductor laser 1 via a bias tee 2 measures a modulated frequency. Further, the coherence of a front optical output is measured by a Michelson interferometer 4. Thus, a multifunction sorting can be conducted, an oscillation frequency can be properly sorted to satisfy a high S/N ratio in a specific length of an external resonator and can be used for a high transmission capacity optical communication.
