英文摘要PURPOSE:To stabilize the oxcillation wavelength even though temperature is not stabilized by a method wherein a semiconductor laser and a medium having a refractive index of temperater coefficient, which is a reverse polarity to the temperature coefficient of refractive index of the active medium of the laser, are optically coupled. CONSTITUTION:A semiconductor laser 1, which has a refractive index na in the active medium thereof, and a medium 4 having a refractive index nb, which is a reverse polarity to that of the laser 1, are optically coupled, and mirrors 2 and 3 are provided at both ends thereof. According to such a way, the oscillation wavelength lambda becomes lambdam/2=na.La+nbLb [(m) is a degree of longitudinal mode]. Accordingly, when the La and the Lb are selected in such a way that variation of the wavelength at the time of temperature change becomes zero, stablization of the oscillation wavelength can be contrived.
