英文摘要PURPOSE:To control a laser diode to specific set temperature in a short time by turning off a main power source when ambient temperature is higher than the set temperature of a laser diode unit, and opening the lid of an opening and closing mechanism and radiating heat. CONSTITUTION:The opening and closing mechanism is provided at the circumference of the laser diode unit LDU such as a casing part corresponding to the top part of the laser diode unit LDU and a casing part corresponding to a side part of the laser diode unit LDU, specially, where cooling is performed. The lid which is opened and closed is fitted to the opening part 25 of the casing of the opening and closing mechanism, and the opening 25 is opened and closed according to the arrow-directional reciprocal motion of a lever 24. When the set temperature of the laser diode unit LDU is lower than the ambient temperature at the periphery of the laser diode, the opening and closing mechanism is put in operation to open the opening 25, and then the heat in the casing is discharged by convection. Consequently, the ambient temperature of the laser diode unit LDU is lowered and a temperature adjustment time is shortened by a Peltier effect element.
