英文摘要PURPOSE:To facilitate control of a light feedback ratio by mounting an external resonator consisting of a fiber cavity on an end plane of a semiconductor laser opposite to its output plane and also providing adjusting means of bending and twisting, thereby adjusting propagation loss of an optical fiber. CONSTITUTION:After the neighborhood of a nonreflective end plane of a fiber cavity 5 is secured to a holder 9 immovable, the nonreflective end plane comes close to the end plane of a semiconductor laser 1 and faces to it. After the degree of optical coupling between the semiconductor laser 1 and the fiber cavity 5 is adjusted to reach the maximum level, the rear of the holder 9 is secured with adhesives to a substrate immovable. Further a bending adjusting means 30 for regulating propagation loss of an optical fiber 6 is prepared at the substrate. If the bending adjusting means 30 turns a screw 36 and pushes on a slider 35 in the direction of the top made by a fixed table 31 and a turn table 32, the optical fiber 6 is bent in a large way and then propagation loss increases. While the adjusting screw 36 is turned in the reverse direction, the slider 35 goes back and then propagation loss of the optical fiber 6 becomes smaller.
