英文摘要 | PURPOSE:To output a multiplexed optical signal for an optical input signal being asynchronous and having small duty ratio between channels by optically connecting in cascade a plurality of bistable semiconductor lasers at the respective channels, applying independent currents to the electrodes, and coupling radiated lights from the channels to one optical fiber. CONSTITUTION:When the timing of a control signal is set to a state that the pulse widths of I'1-I'4 are divided to 1/8 of one frame period and displaced by 1/4 period and the lights radiated from BLD 20 of the respective channels are coupled by a coupler 32 to an optical fiber FO, multiplexed optical signal is propagated in the fiber FO. That is, since a memory state is reset at each frame period by the currents I1-I4 and the input state of the optical signal is stored for one period at each channel, the multiplex is conducted by displacing the reading timing with the currents I'1-I'4, the optical input signals may be asynchronous, and the pulse width is not necessarily narrowed in advance. |
