英文摘要PURPOSE:To enable the light takeout in upper and lower two directions by equipping an upper multilayer reflecting film, at the top of an upper clad layer, and a lower multilayer reflecting film, at the bottom of a lower clad layer. CONSTITUTION:This is equipped with an emitter body 70 on the upper side, and the body 70 is equipped with a lower clad window layer 52, a lower multilayer reflecting film 54, a lower clad layer 56, a horizontal active waveguide path 58, an upper clad layer 60, an upper multilayer reflecting film 62, and a contact layer 66 in order. It is equipped with the first total reflecting end face 72, which is inclined at a tilt angle of 45 deg. to the upside of the substrate 50. The end face 72 reflects the light generated in the wave guide path 58 to the side of the substrate 50. It is equipped with the second total reflecting end face 74, which inclines at a tilt angle of 45 deg. to the upside of the substrate 50 so as to be parallel with the end face 72, and the end face 14 reflects the light generated in the wave guide 58 to the side opposite to the substrate 50. In operation, a laser beam occurs inside the wave guide path 58, and is reflected at the end faces 72 and 74, respectively, and the section between the reflecting films 62 and 54 acts as a resonator, and the laser beams, which have passed the reflecting films 62 and 54, go out of the respective emission window 84, 80 in the directions opposite to each other.
