英文摘要PURPOSE:To provide an optical amplifier device having a wavelength selection function and being capable of amplifying only a desired wavelength by constructing a distributed Bragg reflection type structure such that a laser does not undergo self oscillation by forward electrification only of an active section via a PN junction. CONSTITUTION:The lengths (LR1, LR2) of first and second DBRs(distributed Bragg reflectors) 101, 102 are shortened such that a laser does not undergo self-oscillation by electrification only of an active layer 3 via a PN junction. Accordingly, reflectivities of the first and second DBRs 101, 102 are set to about 3-5%. Further, since an anti-reflection coating 10 is applied on the DBRs, reflectivities on the end surfaces of the opposite sides of the DBRs are estimated to be substantially 0. Once here is inputted on the DBR-AMP 100 light having wavelengths other than lambdaB (desired wavelength), output light is yielded which comprises spontaneous emission light and the light slightly amplified through the active layer 3. On the other hand, when the input light is coincident with the wavelength and light intensity is satisfactorily greater, lasing operation is kept intact by the external input light.
