英文摘要PURPOSE:To realize the optical computer of high signal-processing speed by a method wherein optical waveguides are wired on a substrate so that photo control signals may simultaneously reach each of electronic-photo circuit elements from photo control signal supply points. CONSTITUTION:Composite electronic photo circuit elements 2-6 consisting of light emitting and receiving elements and electronic circuits are mounted on a dielectric or semiconductor substrate It is necessary to control each circuit under the same control signal to make these electronic-photo circuit elements perform various kinds of actions in interlocking. For that purpose, photo control signals obtained from a control signal generator, e.g. clock signal generator 13 are transmitted to a distribution element 7 via optical waveguide 14; further, they must be supplied to each of the electronic-photo circuit elements through optical waveguides 8-12. In this case, when the distributing optical waveguides are equalized in length, control signals are supplied to the electronic- photo circuit elements at the same timing, the each element on the substrate 1 is controlled under the same control signal; therefore, very high-speed action is enabled.
