英文摘要PURPOSE:To enable speedup of channel signals by forming the optical path between a photoemitter and a photodetector of an optical waveguide provided with concave mirrors. CONSTITUTION:An optical path is formed by concave reflectors 14 between a photoemitter 11 and a photodetector 12 via a slab type waveguide 13. Preferably at this time the optical path should be parallel or at a right angle with an emitted beam from the photoemitter or with the stripe direction of a semiconductor laser as the photoemitter 1 Hereupon, light intersection in the slab type waveguide 13 undergoes no exchange of light modes nor light scattering, shows therefore no interference, and is indifferent to signal speed and the like. This causes no trouble on signal speedup.
