英文摘要 | PURPOSE:To increase the intensity of an output light signal and to increase the S/N ratio by separating the mixed light of input light and output light, which are outputted from the resonator end surface on the active area side of a wavelength conversion laser after the wavelength conversion of an input light signal, into the input light and output light by a Mach-Zehnder type optical waveguide, and outputting only the output light. CONSTITUTION:The wavelength converting semiconductor laser 2 converts the wavelength of the input light signal and the mixed light signal of the input light signal and output light signal is projected from the resonator end surface on the side of the active area A of the wavelength-converting semiconductor laser 2. Then, two optical waveguides 32 and 34 are coupled with two directional couplers 28 and 30 and the Mach-Zehnder type interference optical waveguide 4 which is so constituted that an optical path length difference is generated between those two directional couplers 28 and 30 separates the mixed light signal of the input light signal and output light signal and outputs only the output light signal. Consequently, the intensity of the output light signal is increased to increase the S/N ratio and the optical systems of an input part and an output part are easily adjusted. |
