英文摘要PURPOSE:To oscillate the plural lights having different wavelengths individually by providing the plural regions of diffraction gratings which oscillate the lights of different periods in the same active layer and the same waveguide layer in an optical waveguide direction. CONSTITUTION:On a base 5, an active layer 1, a waveguide layer 2, a diffraction grating 3, and current injection electrodes 4a, 4b, and 4c are arranged. The grating 3 is composed of the regions 3a, 3b and 3c which oscillate by the wavelengths lambda1, lambdab, and lambdac respectively. As the period of the grating 3 is so formed that the laser beams of different frequencies are oscillated in the regions 3a, 3b and 3c of the diffraction grating respectively, the respective wavelengths lambdaa, lambdab and lambdac corresponding to the periods of the laser beams oscillated in the respective regions are formed. Accordingly, the lights of different wavelengths can be oscillated individually and the light can be emitted as a single light flux.
