英文摘要PURPOSE:To eliminate power adjustment at the time of replacement of a semiconductor laser unit by a method wherein a monitor output amplifier whose gain is adjustable and a reference voltage generating circuit are provided in the semiconductor laser unit. CONSTITUTION:An monitor output amplifier 8 and a reference voltage generating circuit 9 are provided on the printed circuit board 6 of a semiconductor laser unit 7. The amplifier 8 is composed of an operational amplifier 81 and a variable resistor 82 for gain adjustment. The reference voltage generating circuit 9 is composed of a resistor 91 and a Zener diode 92 which are connected in series between a source terminal to which a source voltage VCC is applied and a ground and a Zener voltage is outputted as an internal reference voltage Vr. The Zener voltage is so selected beforehand as to have the output voltage Vm of the amplifier 8 and to have that voltage Vm as the internal reference voltage Vr. If the unit 7 is adjusted beforehand like this, the replacement operation of the unit can be performed at site without using a power meter 13.
