英文摘要 | PURPOSE:To reduce the optical noise without the influence of the retardation of a disc, by feeding back a specific quantity of light to a semiconductor laser, especially, single longitudinal mode laser. CONSTITUTION:The luminous flux of a semiconductor laser 1 is converted to a parallel luminous flux by a coupling lens 2 and is condensed onto a signal face of a disc 5 through a half prism 3 and a condenser lens 4. The reflected light is reflected by the half prism 3 and is converted to an electric signal by a photodetector 6. A part of the reflected light is returned to the semiconductor laser For the purpose of reducing the variance of the quantity of reflected light due to the influence of the retardation of the disc 5, a polarizing prism and a 1/4 wavelength plate are not used, and consequently, not a circularly polarized light but a linearly polarized light is made incident to the disc 5, and the quantity of feedback light is 1-10% for 100% quantity of emitted light of the laser for the purpose of reducing the noise of the quantity of feedback light due to the quantity of light return of the laser. |
