英文摘要PURPOSE:To simplify the construction by driving a positive temperature coefficient thermistor disposed through a thermal conductor near a semiconductor laser, and controlling the temperature of the laser to the arbitrary set temperature. CONSTITUTION:A semiconductor laser 1 is bonded to a submount 2 of a silicon substrate, and the submount 2 is bonded to a heat sink 3. The light emitted from the laser is passed through a window glass 5 bonded to a metal cap 4 and emitted out of the cap. The light from the end of the glass 5 at opposite side is incident to a photodiode 6 for partly controlling the light to detect the output of the laser The sink 3 and the diode 6 are mounted on a stem 7 mounted, the stem 7 is mounted on a power terminal 8. The sink 3 can be controlled to the prescribed set temperature range by the variation in the heat generated from a positive temperature coefficient thermistor 9.
