英文摘要 | PURPOSE:To improve optical coupling efficiency, by detecting the optical intensity of laser light emitted from a laser chip, performing temperature control with a Peltier element, thereby controlling the passivation of the tip of optical fiber, and maximizing the optical intensity of the laser light. CONSTITUTION:At the time of use, the optical intensity of laser light, which is inputted in optical cable 2, is detected by a detector part 4. The detected data is sent to a control part 5. The control part 5 controls a Peltier element 6 based on the detected data, and the temperature control of a package 1 is performed. A supporting post 15, which is formed with bimetal, is changed owing to temperature change. Therefore the supporting post 15 is changed so that the optical intensity detected by the detector part becomes the maximum value. In this state, the tip of the optical fiber 12 is positioned at the center of the mirror surface of a laser chip 1 At this position, optical coupling between the laser chip 11 and the optical fiber 12 becomes the maximum value. Since the control is always carried out so as to obtain the maximum optical intensity, the high optical coupling efficiency is obtained. |
