英文摘要PURPOSE:To obtain a stable optical coupling having a short movement of a position with respect to an LD of an end spherical fiber due to temperature change by bringing the central axis of a cylindrical holder l for holding the LD into coincidence with that of a cylindrical holder 2 for holding the end spherical fiber to bond them. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical holder 8 for holding an LD 2 and another cylindrical holder 9 for holding an end spherical fiber 3 are provided. The optical axis of the emitted light of the LD 2 is brought into coincidence with the central axis of the holder 8, the optical axis of the fiber 3 is brought into coincidence with the central axis of the holder 9, and the holder 8 is bonded to the holder 9. When the cylinders 8, 9 are thermally expanded due to the temperature change of temperature T1-T2, since the expansions of the peripheral surfaces of the cylinders are uniform, the cylindrical shapes are held, and the relative positions of the central axes with respect to the outer peripheral surfaces do not alter. Accordingly, even if the temperature changes, the variation of the relative position between the LD 2 and the fiber 3 is slight to maintain the stable optical coupling of the LD 2 and the fiber 3.
