| 英文摘要 | PURPOSE:To obtain a thin film optical information processing unit with high quality and high performance by constituting the titled unit so that a linearly polarized light emitted externally from a laser light source is converted into an elliptically polarized light or a circularly polarized light by a phase plate. CONSTITUTION:The radiated light from the semiconductor laser 2 is radiated from the 1st focusing grating coupler 5 formed with an SiN layer and collected to one point on the surface of an optical disk 7 through a lambda/4 phase plate. The light reflected on the surface of the disk 7 follows the reverse path so that at the emission and converted into a linearly polarized light or an elliptically polarized light nearly orthogonal to the polarized direction at emission by the phase plate 6 and incident in the coupler 5. The light is excited in the TM mode of the propagated light but the coupling efficiency with the TM mode is very low. Then only the polarized component coupled with the TE motor is returned as the light, then the effect of the returned light is reduced. Moreover, a part of the TE mode is collected near two pairs of the photodetectors 9 and the signal is detected by a focusing beam splitter 8. |
